The Brooch Show... 2013
An exhibition of unique wearable pieces of contemporary art, a delight to the eye!
An initiative of the Contemporary Art Society of Victoria Inc.
You are cordially invited to the OFFICIAL OPENING & LAUNCH of our Brooch Show on Sunday 5th May, 2pm at the Fitzroy Library, 128 Moor Street, Fitzroy (Melbourne) - to be opened by Cr. Jackie Fristacky, Mayor, City of Yarra.
See over 300 pieces of contemporary wearable art - created by artists from all across Australia, and for the first time, we include artists from New Zealand!
Many of these exquisite works are carved or formed from materials such as timber, metal, textiles, ceramic, glass, resin and a wide range of found objects! There are also small paintings and drawings made into wearable laminated art cards. Some examples - intricately stitched-and-beaded surfaces, trees of worked-wire, birds, beatles and other creatures!
These beautiful pieces of wearable art come together in a special show that only comes around once a year, so don't miss out on this chance to buy a unique small wearable artwork, and at very affordable prices (average price $45). Stand out from the crowd by choosing to wear one of our districtive brooches. They also make great gifts!
